Poems of Love premiered in 2018 as an artistic experiment between two lovers discovering their obsession for Dance, Music, Poetry and of course, each other.
Eight years later, following a transcontinental move and a whole body of critically acclaimed productions, Divya Ravi and Sharan Subramanian return to this intimate work with renewed curiosity.
Poems of Love, features both rare and popular multilingual verses celebrating the personal and the universal nature of love: from Raskhan’s profound Premvatika, to Jayadeva’s evocative Gita Govindam… Sripadaraya’s take on new love to Pattabhiramaya’s satirical verses on love that sustained the weather… Subramanya Bharatiyar’s evergreen poetry to Khalil Gibran’s depth.
Explored through Sharan’s vocals and Divya’s Abhinaya, this promises to be an evocative trip down memory lane revisiting their own love saga, and perhaps everyone’s too!
