Recognized as a prominent soloist, dance-maker and educator in the Bharatanatyam arena, Divya’s virtuosic yet sensitive artistry is a product of rigour, ownership of the movement vocabulary, scholarship in literature and poetics and innate musicality.
Alongside extensively performing traditional repertoires in concert formats, Divya’s choreographic practice is propelled by a curiosity to transform the lyrical, the poetic and the abstract, into tangibly evocative performance-experiences.
Her critically acclaimed solo works and artistic collaborations have been presented to full houses and sold-out theatres across the globe.
Rooted in form and technique, Divya’s works have been lauded for thought-provoking conceptualization and cutting-edge choreography, as she strives to create and sustain a lucid dialogue between poetry, indic philosophy and contemporary audiences.

Grounding
An Electrical & Electronics Engineer by qualification, holding an MBA in Marketing, Divya navigated a career in Branding and Communications until 2019, while evolving and establishing herself as a sensitive, thinking artiste.
Training
Chiselled under the watchful guidance of The Kirans, Soundarya Srivathsa and Bragha Bessel, G Venu (Navarasa Sadhana) and Dr. Anupama Kylash (Dance Academics), Divya continues to explore her artistic pursuits, mentored by Mavin Khoo.
Accolades
A recipient of various awards, Divya is a graded artiste of Doordarshan and empanelled with the Ministry of Culture for Festivals of India Abroad and SPICMACAY and has performed at coveted dance festivals in India, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Hong Kong, UK, Europe and China.
Associations
Divya’s solo works have been supported internationally and funded by reputed organizations including Arts Council England, The Place, Dance East, Dance City, SAA-UK, Akademi, The Bhavan, Kalasangam (UK), Spirit of Harmony Foundation Wisconsin (USA) and RedSapata (Austria). She also tours globally with Akram Khan Company’s Thikra.
Legacy
Divya trains enthusiastic dancers, imparting the legacy of the form, while infusing refreshing new perspectives to learning, performing and embodying Bharatanatyam.
She was also the lead Bharatanatyam faculty at CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) Yuva Gati funded by the Department for Education Gov.UK.
